Effective leaders take the initiative to promote professional growth for themselves and the staff. In order to communicate best practices to maximize teaching and learning, effective leaders are front an center in developing and organizing relevant and meaningful professional learning opportunities.

LEADING BY EXAMPLE:
Dr. Dunbar approaches professional learning communities as the lead learner, modeling continuous growth and shared accountability. She guides staff through intentional trainings and professional development aligned to district systems and processes, school improvement goals, and key school initiatives. By fostering collaborative dialogue, data reflection, and action planning, she ensures professional learning remains purposeful, results-driven, and directly connected to improved teaching and learning outcomes.
BOOK STUDY INITIATIVE:
Using monthly discipline and classroom data reports, Dr. Dunbar is implementing a targeted book study with her leadership team to proactively address classroom management and disciplinary trends. This professional learning structure is designed to strengthen leadership capacity, align expectations, and equip staff with research-based strategies that minimize disruptions, increase student engagement, and promote consistent, positive learning environments schoolwide.
