Dr. Jennifer Dunbar is a high-impact educational leader with a proven record of leading measurable school turnaround and building sustainable systems of excellence. With experience spanning Pre-K through fifth grade classrooms to executive-level school leadership, she specializes in strategic improvement planning, instructional alignment, and performance-driven leadership.
Dr. Dunbar has played a key role in multiple successful school improvement efforts across Georgia. Prior to her tenure in Baldwin County, she contributed to leading Wilkinson County Elementary School off the state’s Promise List by strengthening instructional systems, implementing targeted MTSS structures, and elevating academic expectations. Later, as part of the leadership team at Midway Hills Academy, she helped guide the school off the Georgia Department of Education’s Comprehensive Support and Improvement (CSI) list — a milestone recognized statewide at the GAEL Summer Conference in July 2023.
Currently serving as principal of Marvin E. Lewis Sr. Elementary School, Dr. Dunbar leads with clarity, courage, and conviction. Her leadership is rooted in strengthening Tier I instruction, developing high-capacity teacher teams, leveraging data to drive decisions, and cultivating a positive, accountable school culture. She is known for building systems that outlast circumstances — ensuring that improvement is not temporary, but transformative.Dr. Dunbar believes that excellence is engineered through intentional leadership, strong accountability, and an unshakable belief that all children can achieve at high levels.
